Late in June, Bob and I met up in Geneva. But we stayed in a
small village in France just across the border from Switzerland with our
friends Wendy and Bernard Pope. During our stay we went back and forth between Switzerland and France exploring Geneva and its famous lake, and the surrounding villages and countryside. Vineyards, fields of sunflowers and mountains flash in my mind. With the Jura mountain range on one side and the Alps on the other, Geneva’s valley location makes it a most picturesque city. We experienced the idyllic lifestyle of the villages, waking up in the morning to fresh bread baked in the local bakeries, always a good restaurant around –sometimes with Michelin stars and a relaxed pace of life. Often there are theatrical productions, music and art even in these small villages. Our hosts led us on a journey that also paralleled their life’s history, which made for an even more interesting visit.
