California Dreamin’

“All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray, I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day. I’d be safe and warm if I was in L.A. — California dreaming on such a winter’s day. “

I can hear these words in my head and the singer that I associate most with this song is Johnny Rivers. He also happens to be an old favorite of a good friend who actually lives in Los Angeles. I visited her recently and came home to Michigan to more snow flurries and cold weather. Not surprising that I’m California dreaming. Southern California in February is lush — so many flowering trees and bushes and green, green hills. The air felt remarkably clean and spring-like. The infamous Los Angeles smog gone, gone, gone. My camera battery croaked while I was out there, and some of these photos were taken on my cell phone to remind me of the wonderful light and color.
