Being mother of the bride means that it’s much harder to go around taking photographs at the wedding. There are just too many other details to look after. Besides,we had Rayan Anastor as the photographer for our daughter’s wedding to Erik Pedersen in charming Petoskey and I was confident of her abilities. I wrote to Rayan to ask if I could have a few photos ahead of time to post on my blog to honor not just the wedding, but also Nadia’s birthday a few days later on the 16th. She’s not quite 30 yet, but so accomplished and wise beyond her years.
When I recall my own youth, I remember a shy, earnest and hardworking woman who always valued honesty, loyalty, family, friendship and love above all else. Nadia seems to have inherited so many of my core values, it’s uncanny.
We love and treasure both our daughters. Each is so different from the other. But they both teach us in their own way. “The child is the father of the man.” How true. Happy Birthday my dear daughter and may you and Erik have a lasting and very happy union.
